Generative Non(?)fiction

Course Description: This six-week writing workshop will focus on nonfiction methods for the creation of all kinds of prose. We’ll plumb the sometimes dubious distinctions between nonfiction and fiction: true stories at the edge of believability, fictions based on reality, the unknown and the unknowable. Students receive writing prompts and recommended readings. We emphasize research methods, interview techniques, and narrative strategies. Each week, student writing will be workshopped by the group and the instructor will provide individual written feedback as well.
